The Alcazaba de Almeria

The Alcazaba de Almeria is a fortress that started construction in 955 AD. At the time the fortress was built, Almeria was under Arabic rule. A castle is also located within the Alcazaba, which was commissioned by monarchs Isabella of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon. Las Ramblas

Las Ramblas is a series of streets in central Almeria that shares a name with the famous shopping street in Barcelona. Las Ramblas is made up of four streets in central Almeria: Avenida de Frederico Garcia Lorca, Avenida del Mediterraneo, Paseo de Almeria, and Calle de Coches. Each of the streets stretches toward the Almeria Port, offering some gorgeous views of the sea. Along Las Ramblas, you’ll be able to find some of the best restaurants, cafes, shops, and nightlife in Almeria.

Castillo de San Cristobal

Castillo de San Cristobal is based on a large hill near the Alcazaba de Almeria. Although it is called a castle, Castillo de San Cristobal was actually constructed as a military building. The fortress consists of seven tall towers that were used to guard the Alcazaba and the rest of Almeria. Castillo de San Cristobal combines the architectural styles of both Muslim and Christian culture, making for an interesting design.
